Welcome to Dartmouth Farm Cottages, Higher Swannaton Farm, near Dartmouth in the heart of Devon’s South Hams
Dartmouth Farm Cottages are based on a working farm and cheese dairy on the edge of Dartmouth, and they provide the ideal holiday base, whether you come to Devon to relax, spend time on or in the water, enjoy the beautiful walks, or experience the fabulous restaurants and shopping in Dartmouth.
The perfect combination
Whilst within walking distance or a few minutes drive from the centre of Dartmouth, the cottages offer the peace and tranquillity of open countryside in the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. They are close to the world famous coastal path, and the nearby beaches of Blackpool Sands and Slapton Beach (where it is mandatory, of course, to enjoy local fish and chips on the long shingle beach). Guests also enjoy interacting with the goats and chickens on the farm.
Year-round comfort
The cottages combine character and modern comforts, with well-equipped kitchens, wood burners for cosy evenings, high quality bedding, good wifi and smart TVs. Both cottages have private gardens, as well as a larger, communal patio with a stone wood-fired oven for cooking pizzas, bread and slow roasting. You can walk straight from the cottages across our fields to take in the beautiful views and perhaps make some new four-legged friends. Sustainability is important to us, with renewable energy produced on the farm, and electric car chargers for guests.
Activities for everyone
Whilst many people are attracted to Devon’s coast and countryside, the area is full of activities for all interests and all weathers. There is the obvious attraction of the steam railways, river trips, sealife spotting and walking paths, but there are also small farm shops selling delicious treats and cream teas. For the more active, there is the leisure centre a few minutes away with a fully equipped gym and heated indoor and outdoor pools. In addition to railways and beaches, there are also plenty of activities for younger folk at Woodlands Family Park or channelling your inner pirate just across the Dart via ferry in Brixham.
